Tim Barley went above and beyond our highest expectations as a realtor. His thorough knowledge of the real estate market and in particular, THIS local market, was a tremendous asset to us. Not only did he help us to accurately discern our wants and needs, but he encouraged us to make decisions that weren't in his financial best interest, but ours. During closing, he was able to negotiate our purchase in an advantageous way that saved us a ton of money. We found him and his highly qualified team to be VERY responsive. We've been in our new home 6 months and couldn't be happier. He is an ongoing realtor - if we're looking for a contractor, he's our first call for a recommendation. No buyers remorse - Just Buyers Rejoice!

We worked with Tim Barley and his REIDC team for both the sale of our house and purchase of our new house. Tim and his team were very attentive, careful with their feedback, offered great suggestions for staging our house using what we had already, and incredible with their marketing of the house.

"Masterful" is definitely the world I would use for this team. My husband and I bought (again) with the Faison team and sold (first time) with them this fall. To say they are detail and customer–oriented is such an understatement. From looking at SO many homes (such patience), finding our absolute dream spot, landing a contingent contract on the Hill (nearly unheard of), getting our home on the market in 72 hours, to selling well over list price, – start to finish this team is the best. Wouldn't work with anyone else.

Tom acted as our buyer's agent when we purchased our Capitol Hill house, and he represented both sides of the transaction when we sold it seven years later. With all of the tools available to consumers these days (Zillow, Redfin, Houzz, etc.), the need for traditional real estate agents isn't as clear as it was before. But Tom adds real value to transactions--especially in Capitol Hill. He knows the neighborhood and the personalities in it very well, and his deep connections to the area can make deals happen (or hold them together) when others cannot.

On the buy side, Tom helped us craft an offer that got us the house even though we offered the least money of the three bids the sellers received. He was able to reach out to the seller's agents and determine that the seller valued certainty over the highest price, and so we were able to snag the house by waiving contingencies and offering less money than we were willing to pay.

On the sell side, Tom had a buyer who was looking for a place like ours, and he connected the two of us. We were able to get a good price for the home without going through the process of putting it on the open market, doing open houses, etc. I wouldn't recommend this procedure for everybody (because you might get more money the other way), but for us it was ideal because we weren't able to vacate prior to our sale, and the idea of staging our home was unpalatable while we had to live there with our two young sons. Because of the ethical considerations that go along with representing both sides, Tom didn't do a lot of negotiating. But he understood our desires, and he was very diligent about facilitating the transaction once we agreed it in principle with the buyer. He also helped clear potential roadblocks and move the parties toward closing. Again, I think that his expertise was important both to identify a great buyer and to make the deal happen.

Finally, for those who don't know Tom, he's a genuine friend to his clients. I've been in touch with him consistently for a period of almost eight years, during which time he helped me find my first home, helped me look at other properties as my family grew, and then helped me sell my home at a great price. Reading his listings, you can tell that he has a unique sense of humor, and he's a pleasure to work with.

Tom's team did it again. From the first prep suggestions, through staging and final clean, they knocked it out of the park. Their support throughout the process was great, pricing and negotiation was flawless. 4 offers in 6 days for an over-list contract with a very quick settlement

Tom Faison and his team are by far the best listing agents I have ever met!  As someone who has worked with numerous listing agents over the past 20 years and has held a real estate license for almost 40 years, I was not only impressed by Tom's sincerity, knowledge of the market and creative writing style, but also was in awe of how professional, efficient and savvy he and his team were.

My husband and I first met Tom when we bought one of his listings four years ago.  Left with a very favorable impression, we both knew that Tom was the person to call to discuss marketing our home this summer.  Astonishingly, within a week's time, Tom and his team advised us of what items should be removed from our home to create "an airy feeling," provided us access to move and store these items, suggested areas in our home which would benefit from painting, and orchestrated and paid for maid service and window washing before photographs were taken and included online.

Not surprisingly, we received a very good offer within 24 hours and much interest over a week's time.  Agreeing to an offer $50,000 above the asking price, we were extremely pleased and thankful for the prowess of Tom and his team.
